Description

Socotra Island Blue Baboon Tarantula, Monocentropus balfouri

Communal species

Substrate must be dry with a water dish, mist the sides of the enclosure weekly for them to drink when they prefer. Lots of anchor points are important. When building a communal, enough space is important, but too big of a space can cause them to set up territories that can cause fighting.

Blue legs and a tan to golden body make this species very attractive. They are found on the island of Socotra in Yemen. They are one of the few species that can be housed communally, having been observed living in close proximity in the wild. This is a must have for any collector.
