Captive Bred Giant African Olive Millipedes,Telodeinopus

Captive Bred Right Here in The Defiant Jungle on Vivarium Naturals Bio-Thrive Millipede Substrate

AKA Giant Ghana Speckled Leg Millipede / Max Size: 7-8"

Feeding: Millipedes will primarily feed on their substrate. That’s why we recommend Vivarium Naturals Bio-Thrive Millipede Substrate.

They love decomposing wood and Vivarium Naturals Premium Aged Hard Wood Leaves. This will make up the bulk of their diet, making it necessary to change out spent substrate (appears as little dirt balls) with fresh substrate on a regular basis. Vivarium Naturals Nutra-Pede Protein & Mineral Nutriment provides important extra protein they enjoy along with essential minerals for a long and healthy life.

Giant African olive millipedes have, as the name suggests, a dark olive colored body with distinctive dark to light brown bands on every body segment. Their long legs, two pair on each body segment, are light with dark speckles. Some traits have even a more green olive colored body. Their head and anal valve are generally a bit lighter than the rest of the body.  With an adult body size up to 7,5″, they belong to the medium-sized millipede species. Males are generally smaller than females. They have longer legs than most other millipede species that they use to climb.

Temperature and heating: Giant African Olive Millipedes should be kept in an environment of around 72°F-78°F. They can live and survive at 68F, but they will be happier when kept a little warmer.
